Management Support Online (MSO) NGO Services
Management Support Online (MSO) NGO Services is one of the two service arms of Breaking New Ground Pty Ltd. It provides web based services and solutions to not for profit and community based organisations.
MSO NGO Services provides:
- MSO Subscriber Service: A unique Australian web based service that combines a number of elements to create a virtual ‘help desk’ for the running of an NGO. It contains an integrated set of services and resources across the core aspects of management, governance, operation and administration, designed to assist community sector, not for profit organisations to manage and operate confidently in demanding environments. The MSO carries self paced animated training sessions, organisational development activities and good practice guides, downloadable tools for tailoring, information sheets and resources, a gateway to other specialist websites and resources and a confidential assistance service.
Read more about the MSO Subscriber Service: MSO Subscriber Service - The MSO Online Shop: Due to open in November 2009, the online shop will provide purchaser access to selected MSO Subscriber Service materials – tools, templates, information kits and other resources that organisations can use for organisational development and problem solving.
- Standards and Performance Pathways (SPP): SPP is being prepared for launching in late 2009. SPP is a patented online system for NGOs and on-site assessors to complete organisational assessments for quality standards. Our first release of the SPP is for community services NGOs and it will guide users through the process of completing assessments for a wide range of Australian community services standards.
- Standards cross referenced: SPP cross references and completes other relevant standards sets automatically – organisations will be able to complete assessments for multiple standards in a single assessment.
- Electronic work plans linked to resources, tools and templates to assist organisations to complete guided activities
- Electronic ‘evidence pack’ for uploading documents

Bradfield Nyland Group Consultancy Practice
Jane Bradfield and Julie Nyland are the principals of Bradfield Nyland Groupand directors of Breaking New Ground Pty Ltd. They have been working in the area of human services for over 25 years and are leading experts in community sector governance, not for profit management and organisational development and the development of integrated online resources and services for the Australian NGO sector.
The consulting practice of Bradfield Nyland Group was established in 1997. Shortly after this, Breaking New Ground Pty Ltd was set up to incorporate both the consultancy practice and MSO NGO Services.
Bradfield Nyland Group Consultancy Practice provides consultancy services specialising in community management, not for profit governance, organisational development and building capabilities and capacity for communities and organisations. The aim of our work is to develop good practice within organisations, enhance quality improvement at service, operational and governance levels, transfer and build skills, and assist organisations to problem solve, learn and change.
