What's in 'Developing effective governance'

The activities in this module are designed for the board or management committee of the organisation. The activities will guide your board or management committee in reviewing and improving its capacity to do its job – that is, to establish and maintain effective governance.

This module reviews:

• the composition of the board or management committee and its capacity to govern the organisation
• the allocation of roles, responsibilities and decision making authority within the board or management committee , and between the board or management committee and staff
• the skills and knowledge of the members of the board or management committee
• the extent to which the board or management committee maintains control of the organisation
• the way the board or management committee conducts its business.
